Welcome to my blog. I want to tell you about an annoying problem I used to have – a pinched nerve in leg. I was born in the early 1980-s, so, unlike the kids of today, I was quite active during my childhood. But then, while I was in high school, and even more so later, during my academic studies, my lifestyle became quite “sedentary”. Today I hold an engineering job, which also keeps me sitting on my behind for most of the day. Unfortunately, until lately I wasn’t aware of the damage my lifestyle causes to my back – hey, if nothing hurts then nothing’s wrong, right? Well… Wrong!!! The damage was building up, until one day, as I woke up, I felt a slight pain in the top of my leg, which went away quite fast, after making a few steps. Now, I still didn’t make that much account of it. I did realize that since the pain goes away after a few steps, then it’s probably not a muscle problem, but rather symptoms of a pinched nerve somewhere in my leg. A few more months passed, and this pinched nerve pain came back, this time not going away after a few steps, making it hard to walk and even sleep. I was then alarmed by it and started to look for information about that weird pinched nerve. I found out that the condition is called “sciatica“, after this annoying nerve, which is called the sciatic nerve. I found out I’m not alone in it – more then 10% of the US population suffers from it, I realized what causes this pinched nerve in leg. In this blog, I will try to pass what I have learned to you.
